Scholastic China
Since its establishment in 1920, Scholastic is an international company has promoted English lessons to children for over 80 years all around the world and has published and distributed millions of high quality books including the Harry Potter. Scholastic is also a leader in producing high quality educational software, magazines, videos, toys and other multi-media materials.

Scholastic China was founded in 2002. It has become one of the most outstanding education service providers in China by promoting the development of teaching software, curriculum standards and distant education.


Features of Scholastic English for Children
Scholastic entered China in order to provide high-quality, result-oriented Children’s English learning experiences to Chinese children. Scholastic's English learning centers are developed for children ages 4 - 16 years old with the aim of helping them improve their English listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities. In addition, there is a children's library full of imported books from the United States. Scholastic students have access to books in this library free of charge. 1. Multiple Intelligences and Area Corners Learning methods
Scholastic English are committed to help children in learning English by applying the learning method of Multiple Intelligences, which was proposed by Howard Gardner, the world famous developmental psychologist.
Scholastic English has applied the concept of Area Corners to the kindergarten classroom design layout, including the corner of demonstration, performance, handwork, construction, ABC writing, arts, technology, science, mathematics and the reading corner. At each corner there will be some detailed teaching materials and plans to assist the teachers in English teaching.

1. Kindergarten
Students will learn core vocabulary words about animals, foods, colors, numbers, feelings, actions, etc. Students will also start learning basic phonics through learning 450 picture words, 30 useful expressions, 25 songs and chants, 26 alphabet books and 195 writing and activities.

2. Primary school, Grade 1 & 2
Students will learn core vocabulary words about foods, beverages, pets, shapes, my body, my family, etc. Students will also start learning basic phonics through learning 300 picture words, 96 useful expressions, 45 songs and chants, 45 alphabet books and 150 writing and activities.

3. Primary school, Grade 2 & 3
Students will learn core vocabulary words about transportation, school facilities, outdoor activities, making friends, actions, etc. Students will also start learning basic phonics through learning 450 picture words, 115 useful expressions, 45 songs and chants, 45 alphabet books and 150 writing and activities.
